Buying Options

💡 Welcome to a step-by-step walkthrough for trading options on Premia Blue! 
Note: The examples used are for buying options (entering a long call/put position). Traders can follow the same process to sell options (enter a short call/put position) by choosing "Sell" instead of "Buy" at the beginning.

1. Start by picking either "Call" or "Put", clicking on “Select Underlying Token”, and selecting the token for the option you want to trade.

2. After that, select your strike price by clicking the Strike Price dropdown.

3. After choosing your strike price, you’ll be presented with a window to select your Expiration Date. 

4. For the final step, select your Option Size. Type in the size you want and you’ll be presented with a list of quotes from the available liquidity. The best available quote will always be displayed at the top.

After choosing your preferred quote, click the "Buy option" button. You'll be presented with a confirmation screen that displays details along with a potential P&L chart.

Buy the option, confirm the transaction in your wallet, and you're good to go!

Providing Liquidity

💡 Welcome to a step-by-step guide for providing liquidity on Premia Blue!

1. Navigate to the "Pools" tab. Here, you'll be able to create new LP positions, or settle old ones that have expired. Click "Create new position".

2. Choose the token pair, option type, and whether you want to market-make for Bids or Asks.

3. Select the strike price & expiration date (maturity) you wish to underwrite options for. You can either provide liquidity to a strike and expiration that already exists and has liquidity provided for it, or deploy a new pool.

The current spot price is marked by the blue line. You can also see which maturities and strike prices have existing pools by checking their liquidity.

4. Enter your Option Size (the amount you want to deposit). Now, you'll get to set your desired range of premiums.

5. Set the range of premiums you believe will net you the most premiums & fees, and click "Add Liquidity". You'll then be greeted with a confirmation screen.

6. Click the "Deposit" button, approve the transaction in your wallet, and you're good to go!

Removing Liquidity in Premia Blue

1. From the pool page, you can click on the Pool position to get a quick overview.

2. To remove liquidity from a position, start by clicking "Edit" on the option pool position that you want to remove liquidity from.

A dialogue will pop up that shows all the information for the position.

3. You can now Withdraw your position, Add to your position, Claim your fees, or change the range on your position. To adjust the range use either the slider or manually input the values in the text fields. Let's look at how withdrawing works.

4. You can either withdraw all or part of your position. I’m going to withdraw all my liquidity by hitting Max and then the Withdraw button.

5. Execute the transaction in your wallet, and once you get the confirmation in the top right hand corner of your screen, you are done!

Selling Options

💡 Welcome to a step-by-step guide for selling options back to the pool on Premia Blue!

Once you've bought an option, an indicator has appeared next to the Positions tab on the sidebar. The Positions tab shows all your positions and how they’re performing.

This is also where I can close my options. If you don’t close your options before expiration, don’t worry, as you can settle them afterwards. 

After clicking on the Close button, I can see a detailed view of my PNL. Unfortunately, I’m currently at a loss of -46%.

You have the choice to closing the full amount of the option after expiration. Closing early is sometimes a good way to profit from extra Theta, or time decay. Prior to expiration, closing options is done via the Trade page.

I can now choose to close my position by clicking "Sell Back to Pool".
